The Shack - Baptism of The Holy Spirit - Music

I recentley finished the "The Shack" by William p. Young, a fictional novel.

I highly recommend this autobiographical metaphor of Young's pain and redemption as a missionary kid growing up in New Guinea his first six years. He takes the reader inside Mack's (the main character) heart and head, and subsequently the reader's heart and mind. It is not systematic theology, but it does reveal God's goodness, sovereignty, and love. He originally wrote this book for his six children never imagining the impact it would have across the world. I love this book because it brought me into repentance, prayer, adoration and tranquility. My guess is for most folks who read the book, they will hand out multiple copies, because of their desire for people to experience the work of the Holy Spirit. After you read it give me your take on it.

Crying out for Renewal, Revival, Anointing.

I have recently been stirred by the Spirit to seek a fresh outpouring for the Church, locally as well as world wide. I am using Pastor John Piper, Dr. Martin Lloyd Jones and Gorden Fee as sources. They are theologically sound and especially Piper they are inspiritational and motivating. I believe we desparately need a book of Acts type of movement of the Holy Spirit. I am aware of the excesses and abuses in the last few centuries, but I am not going to let peoples "weirdness" keep me or our church from the real thing. I think fear and unbelief can cause "us" to quench the Spirit. "Come, Holy Ghost our souls inspire, And lighten with celestal fire . . ." "Veni, Creator Spiritus" REC,BCP - pg.548. Music

Jeremy Riddle's cd "Full Attention" is extremely powerful. His style and substantive words penetrate deeply into the soul evoking praise and adoration. Also Jeremy Camp's "Beyond Measure" cd has great depth written from his own redemptive pain. Praise God for the many wonderful artists that aid us in our praise to God!
